The foundation was established in 2018 by Larry Van Tuyl, building on the family's legacy of dedication and hard work. Cecil Van Tuyl, Larry's father, lived by the mantra "People, People, People." Today, the foundation carries out Cecil's unyielding belief that people are the center of everything we do.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation was established to honor the service and sacrifice of Marines and their families. Our Nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation helps cover the cost of attending post-high school, undergraduate, and career and technical education programs. For the last 6 years, Van Tuyl Companies has hosted an annual golf tournament at Wickenburg Ranch, coming together with our partners to ensure no Marine family is left behind. To date a total of over $3 million has been raised through the golf tournament to support Marine families.
